We’re pleased to announce that we’re nominated for not one but two awards at The Leamington Business Awards 2022! We’re finalists for the Business and Community Award and for Independent Business of the Year.
Having struggled with supply issues during the pandemic, we also faced lorry shortages and many social distancing measures we quickly had to implement, such as fitters not being able to work next to each other. However, our business has since largely overcome these challenges and we’re delighted to be finalists in the awards.
Set up in 2014, the Leamington Business Awards were created with the purpose of recognising excellence among local businesses. The Business and Community Award is open all businesses that can demonstrate they’ve gone out of their way to make a positive impact in their community. Judges expect to see proof of a contribution to the local community, in addition to staff engagement and an understanding of community matters. Commitment to community or charitable acts without commercial benefit to the business is also expected.
By comparison, the Independent Business of the Year Award acknowledges the crucial role that independent businesses have. This award is given to a local, independent business that can show they have provided first-class customer service, and innovative products or services within their chosen industry. The award is open to all industry sectors. Judges expect nominees to demonstrate the unique nature of their business, as well as showing their personality. Entrants need to showcase the qualities that help make their business stand out, in addition to demonstrating how they ‘serve and delight their customers’.
The Leamington Business Awards were developed by the town for the town. It’s a not-for-profit awards scheme, specifically designed so businesses and organisations of all sizes can enter.
Entries for the Business and Community Award must be no longer than 800 words and should explain how the business has emphasised community support within its organisation. Testimonials from those who have benefitted from this support were also requested as part of the application process, along with detailed examples of what the nominees do to support the local community.
Only three businesses are shortlisted for each award, so to be finalists in two categories is a huge achievement for us.
The awards dinner will take place on the evening of Friday 18th March at the fabulous 1 Mill Street venue in Leamington Spa. We’re really looking forward to the event. Wish us luck!
