Modern Homes are pleased to announce our new partnership working with Chris Hand.

Chris has worked at many top hotels in England including Mallory Court, Ettington Park and Billesley Manor.

He is now working at one of the top cookery schools in the country - Brook Hall in Winslow, Buckinghamshire.

Chris is now working for himself in his new venture ‘ Hand to Home’ which offers individually designed dinner parties or buffets. Chris also offers cookery demonstrations, wine tasting and is starting his own deli business where he will be supplying his homemade produce and speciality goods.

We welcomed him for his first visit last month where he entertained us with some fabulous ideas and numerous cookery techniques.

We will be starting a new newsfeed where the recipies that Chris uses will be posted on our website for you all to use !!

Chris will be back with us on Saturday 4th April where we will have two further demonstrations , 11.00 am and 2.00 pm.

Refreshments will be available and of course we will get to taste the lovely food Chris cooks.

Now we have our new Bosch working kitchen, we would like to offer our services to any groups who would like an evenings entertainment.

We can offer an evening of cookery demonstrations using the latest Bosch multi function ovens with self clean options, combi microwaves for speed and efficiency, combi stem oven for healthy quick meal options, and induction hob for speed and energy conservation.

This could be combined with a discussion about the latest kitchen and bathroom products aimed to promote well being, labour saving and energy efficiency.

On Saturday November 15th we are having an open day, Karen from Bosch and myself will be rustling up tasty treats that you can wow your friends with at Christmas.

We have had a very exciting day, Malcolm from the QVC shopping channel has been filmed today in our lovely kitchen showroom, using our working Bosch appliances.

He was demonstrating a new range of Mastrad cookware, they are a French company with a passion for all things culinary and a reputation for style and innovation.

They were filming their new range of cookware the ‘ papillote’

This is the way forward in cooking more healthily, the ‘ papillote’ allows food to cook or steam in it’s own juices, so there is no need to add any oils or butter or even water. The lid suctions to the body of the oval dish, creating a vacumn and keeps the important minerals and vitamins and most importantly the flavours right there inside the food. Simply prepare the food in the dish pop on th lid and place in the oven up to 250oc or in the microwave. The food comes effortlessly out of the papillote , so hardly any cleaning required, handwash or dishwasher safe.

We were also introduced to their ‘Orka’ range of silicone mitts, which offer protection from temperatures up to 300o , you can even plunge it into boiling water !! or you can have 2 and use as oven gloves, and when they need cleaning just pop them into the dishwasher !!

As part of our 40th Birthday year the Leamington Spa Observer Newpaper yesterday ( 15th) had an article about the three generations of our family connected with Modern Homes, not a bad photo of the three of us, even though Dad wouldn’t let us actually open the champagne !!!!

Throw away your kettle !!

There’s a revolution in kitchens ! 100°C boiling water is now on tap from the unique Quooker. Ultra-convenient, ultrasafe with a built-in childproof safety mechanism and brilliantly energy-efficient.

Boiling water and children can be a dangerous combination, but the Quooker comes with a tap that is securely mounted to the worktop and has a child-proof push and turn handle. As another safety feature the aater comes out of the tap in a fine spray rather than a solid jet. On top of the the tap dispenses ano more than 0.05 litres of water per second.
