Celebrating a vibrant business community
We’ve always been proud to operate within the heart of Leamington Spa. It boasts a vibrant, passionate business community, and the annual awards bring all of that to the fore.
This is important, because as any small business owner will know, time passes by far too quickly each week to stop, sit back, and digest exactly what we’re all achieving.
We’re certainly guilty of that at Modern Homes; our focus is always on delivering the best possible customer experience each and every time. But that means we rarely take the time to pat ourselves on the back for a job well done.
Winning an award for customer excellence certainly puts this in perspective. Clearly, our efforts are being recognised, and our desire to be the best in the business is far more than the words you’ll read on this website.
But, we knew that deep down, of course!
How we were judged
The Customer Excellence award was created to celebrate businesses that demonstrate the highest levels of customer service.
Judges are tasked with identifying businesses that have customer service embedded throughout the organisation and at every stage of the buying journey. They consider how customer feedback is addressed and look for strategies which ensure high levels of customer care are sustainable.
Far too many businesses make customer service a small element of the buying process; it takes place either briefly after the purchase is made or only when called upon. At Modern Homes, it’s threaded through everything we do, and we’re so delighted that the judges recognised this.
The proof is in the repeat business
We’re always been proud of the fact that over 85% of the business we receive comes via repeat clients or word-of-mouth recommendations.
As any small business owner will know, this kind of business is vital if you’re to remain profitable and capable of delivering high levels of customer service.
Advertising is expensive and climbing to the top of Google challenging for local businesses. This is why customer service should sit at the heart of every firm and we’re chuffed that our efforts have been verified by a team of experienced judges.

There were so many other winners on the night, most of whom we know from the local business community. And, although we congratulated them during the awards ceremony, we’d like to take this opportunity again to say a huge “well done” to every single nominee and winner.
Leamington benefits from a bustling business community and it’s one we love being a part of. New businesses arrive regularly and it’s so rewarding to see how many survive, thrive, and grow.
We’re already looking forward to next year’s awards, not least because it gives us the chance to treat the team to a night out, but also because it gives us the excuse to get dressed up and party way past our normal bedtime!
